Senator Nwoko ushered in two concurrent initiatives: a free JAMB registration drive for 1,500 candidates and an expanded free medical outreach benefiting communities including Agbor and Ibusa.
Free JAMB Registration Initiative
Senator Nwoko announced a free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration scheme for 1,500 prospective students across Delta North ahead of the 2026 academic session.
The program seeks to remove financial barriers to higher education, particularly the registration fees that can burden families in rural and semi-urban areas.
The initiative covers the nine local government areas in Delta North: Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, and Ukwuani.
Eligibility requires candidates to be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026. Applicants must first generate their JAMB Profile Code using their National Identification Number (NIN), then submit their full name, profile code, and council ward for verification through a designated online portal.
Registration opened recently and remains available until Sunday, February 15, 2026.
The senator emphasized education’s foundational role in development, stating: “Education is the foundation upon which lasting development is built.
This initiative is part of my commitment to supporting young people and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.” He described it as an investment in human capital and the future of Delta North communities.
This move aligns with Nwoko’s broader focus on youth empowerment, following earlier efforts like skills training and funding programs for hundreds in the district.
The announcement has been widely covered by outlets like Punch Newspapers and shared on the senator’s official social media, with a dedicated application portal noted in some reports.
Expanded Free Medical Outreach
In parallel, Senator Nwoko’s office expanded its ongoing free medical outreach, with recent activities benefiting residents of Agbor (Ika South LGA) and Ibusa (Oshimili North LGA), along with surrounding communities.
The latest phase, a two-day program, served over 600 beneficiaries with services including medical consultations, treatment for common ailments (e.g., hypertension, fever-related illnesses, eye and dental issues), surgical procedures where needed, diagnostic X-rays, free medications, and distribution of eyeglasses.
The senator’s team also donated medical equipment worth millions of naira to local primary healthcare centers, including hospital beds, stretchers, examination couches, diagnostic kits, refrigerators, solar lamps, and more.
This builds on prior phases: the first in November 2023 (over 500 beneficiaries in areas like Idumuje-Ugboko, Umunede, and Umusan) and a second in September 2024 (over 600 reached). The program fulfills a 2023 campaign pledge to improve rural healthcare access.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, the senator reiterated: “The well-being of the people remained the cornerstone of my public service,” adding that interventions occur irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.
Participants, including elderly residents, expressed gratitude through prayers and commendations for the grassroots impact.
Since entering the Senate, Senator Nwoko has prioritized constituency projects in social welfare, infrastructure, and empowerment. These latest efforts—education access for youths and healthcare for rural populations—reflect a consistent people-oriented approach amid Nigeria’s economic pressures, where costs for exams and medical care often deter participation.
While no external partners were explicitly named in the core programs, some related empowerment activities have involved collaborations like the Centre for Management Development (CMD) and private entities for training and health services.
These initiatives have generated positive local feedback and media attention, positioning Nwoko as an active representative focused on tangible deliverables in Delta North.
As registration for the JAMB program closes soon, eligible students are encouraged to apply promptly via official channels.
