In the wake of the heart-wrenching tragic accident occurred on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025 at Tashan Gonna in Billiri town. A truck carrying grains rammed into a procession of Christian worshippers, primarily from the Tangale community, returning from a mountain prayer gathering to commemorate Jesus Christ’s resurrection.
Casualties
Five people (two males, three females) were killed, and 13 others were injured, with victims sustaining fractures and open wounds. Hon. Isa Ali JC, Member representing Balanga / Billiri Federal Constituency, Gombe state ( Minority Whip of the House of Representatives) emerged not only as a constituency representative at the National Assemby but as a profound symbol of compassion, religious tolerance, and shared humanity.
His response to this devastating loss, which claimed innocent lives and left others grappling with pain, reveals a man whose heart is both heavy with sorrow and resolute in purpose.
Rt. Hon. Ali Isa JC PhD visit to the hospital wards. He sent supports priorly
Hon. Isa’s words, penned with humility and raw emotion, reflect a leader who feels the weight of his responsibility deeply.
While away during the immediate aftermath, he acted swiftly, dispatching a delegation to assess the situation and provide materials and financial supports .
Yet, in a display of rare candor, he acknowledges the limitations of such actions: “No amount of action from afar could substitute being physically present with those in pain.”
This admission is not a confession of failure but a testament to his sincerity—a leader unafraid to confront his own humanity.

What sets Hon. Isa apart is his willingness to step into the heart of suffering.
His recent visits to the injured, where he looked into their eyes, held their hands, and listened, paint a picture of a man who sees beyond titles and roles. In those hospital rooms, he did not merely see victims; he saw “the face of our shared humanity, our faith, and our collective resilience.” These are not the words of a politician seeking favor but of a servant whose empathy transcends religious and cultural divides.
In a nation often fractured by differences, though devoted Muslim, Hon. Isa’s actions during this crisis embody a rare and vital religious tolerance, uniting a constituency he represents in their shared grieves and hopes.
To the grieving families, his message is clear: “This pain is not yours to bear alone.” This is more than a promise—it is a covenant. His commitment to ensuring such a tragedy never recurs is not a hollow pledge but a call to action, one that demands accountability and tangible change. As he walks beside his constituency, Hon. Isa’s leadership offers a blueprint for healing: rooted in presence, grounded in faith, and driven by an unwavering dedication to the people he serves.
In this moment of sorrow, Hon. Isa Ali stands as a beacon of what representation can and should be—a harmonious blend of strength, humility, and boundless compassion.
The community, though wounded, is fortunate to have such a steward representing and guiding them toward brighter days.
